485 sn B101573 Opt 4

I bought this 485 scope from a fellow in El Cajon as my working daily-driver. And it worked great for years, until I left it on over the weekend and came back to find the fuse blown. And it blew the next fuse. I didn’t take it apart to diagnose it, because I had another scope to use. It is in great shape otherwise. Someone replaced the rear stilts with short machine bolts, so there’s no support back there.

SOLD 465 sn B190734 SOLD

I bought this on eBay knowing it was dead. The front panel lit up just fine, but no display. I took off the covers and checked the voltages. All were good, except for the +5VDC, which had 2.5V ripple on it! I knew it needed new filter caps, but I didn’t have the time to take it all apart and put it all together again in one sitting. Otherwise it would have been a basket case. I sold it at yesterday’s Ham Radio Outlet parking lot Hamfest to a nice ham who has another 465 and wanted mine for parts.

453 sn 003672

This was my former apprentice Jordan’s scope that I got in the package deal when he left town for greener pastures. The 453 is a nice portable scope, and this one is in good working order. It’s missing a foot on the bottom, and the rear stilts are in bad shape, with 2 of them being bolts, but they still do the job. I had a hardcopy manual in my library before I got the scope.

180A Time-Mark Generator

I got this Type 180A Time-Mark Generator in my first batch of Tektronix stuff that I bought from an old retired engineer in town. This one is Serial Number 5733. Here’s a link to the djvu manual: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8aoo0znnlzfuwmt/180a.djvu?dl=0

T932A sn B022605

This Tektronix T932A sn B022605 was given to me by a friend named Tom who used it in his job calibrating electric motors, I think. It has some scratchy pots that make the trace on Channel A jump around, but is otherwise very functional. There is a Z-axis connector on the rear. I have a hardcopy manual in my library.

7704A sn 102137

This Tektronix 7704A sn 102137 was my shop workhorse for a few years. Last year I plugged it in and fired it up, and a cloud of white smoke poured out of the vents on the rear side. I took it apart and couldn’t find any visual evidence of the damage. I think it was a filter cap in the PSU that went to Dead Cap Heaven. I was astonished that the power supply was so small. I never got around to actually attempting a fix yet. This mainframe scope has 4 slots for plugins. The upper and lower halves both have the same serial number.
